Church Vision Day

Stained Glass Windows

Morning worship will lead into discussion workshops 11.45am – 12.45pm and 1.30 - 2.30pm. Please bring a contribution for a ‘bring and share lunch’.

In preparation for the day please read some of these Bible passages that speak of what Jesus wants His church to be and do, Matthew 25:34-36, Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, Acts 2:36-47, Ephesians 1:3-14; 2:8-22; 4:14-24; Colossians 3: 12-17; 1 Peter 2:4-10. As you read ask, “What are you saying to us, Lord?” and note all that you believe the Lord is saying to you.

In the workshops there will be opportunity to discuss key aspects of our church life including our worship and witness with the aim of preparing an action plan for the coming years detailing priorities and specific steps to be taken. For us to know the Lord’s blessing and the Spirit’s enabling it is essential that this is not a list of our wishes but what we discern to be His instruction.

Dare to dream, believing that God has big dreams for us! Dream about what the church could be like 3-5 years from now as God empowers us to fulfil his mission. This is where it really gets exciting! Let the Holy Spirit bring pictures to mind of what the church could become.

The Action Plan will be a welcome briefing for my successor and will help our church officers to be good stewards of our resources of time, energy, property and money. Just as none of us can do everything that seems like a good idea, neither can a church. There need to be guidelines based on the particular call of God that we have discerned. Please ensure that you can contribute to this process on 26th October.
